steve mandandaArsenal are keeping tabs on Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda, as reported by talkSPORT.com.

Although Wojciech Szczesny has become an established member of Arsene Wenger’s side in the past three seasons or so and is the Frenchman’s first-choice goalkeeper.

However, it is thought Wenger still has doubts over the Poland international’s maturity after making an obscene gesture following his red cars against Bayern Munich 12 days ago.

As such, Wenger is reportedly ready to dip into the market at the end of the season to recruit a more experienced shot-stopper, and Mandanda is high on the Frenchman’s list.

The 28-year-old has been a regular for Marseille since joining the Ligue 1 outfit from Le Havre in 2007 and has also won 16 caps for France to date.

Rated at around £8 million, Mandanda, who is also wanted by Roma and Atletico Madrid, possesses a wealth of experience, has great reflexes and also a very good shot-stopper. However, his decision-making at times is questionable.

Personally, we could do with an older keeper coming in to challenge, as well as help out Szczesny, as the Pole currently has no real competition for his place in the side, and Mandanda could do both.

Cant see this happening. Both goalkeepers are too good to be sitting on the bench. They both belong as #1 for top european clubs.
