Michy BatshuayiStandard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi has revealed his admiration for Arsenal’s style of play and hinted at a move to the Emirates at the end of the season.

The 20-year-old Belgian, who has 19 goals in 34 appearances for his club so far this season, has been widely tipped to move to one of Europe’s top leagues this summer, despite having a contract at Liege until 2018.

And Batshuayi has added more smoke to the fire by revealing his desire to play in either England or Germany, with Arsenal being the Belgium Under-21 international’s preferred destination:

Quoted in the Metro, the young forward said on his future at Liege:

‘Unfortunately I do not think I’ll stay [at Standard past the summer].

‘Many things can happen but I am someone who has ambitions. I want to progress as quickly as possible. I’ll make a choice with my agents and my family. I must consider my choices carefully.

‘I have not yet signed anywhere yet.’

He finished off by saying:

‘I am interested in the German and English championships. They are physical and technical championships.

‘Personally, I like Arsenal. There is a good philosophy at the club where trust is given to young players. This is a very technical team playing good football, and since I was little this was a team who I liked.’

With Olivier Giroud’s future at Arsenal in serious jeopardy following a string of off-field antics and previous to this, Arsene Wenger eager to strengthen his attack for next season’s campaign, Batshuayi, who has been on the Gunners’ radar, looks an ideal and realistic signing this summer.
