Loic RemyIn early January, Harry Redknapp admitted he would sell Loic Remy if an offer too good to turn down came in for the QPR striker this summer.

Newcastle have not hidden the fact that they want to sign the 27-year-old on a permanent deal, but it seems they’ll have to fend off interest from Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger is believed to have had the France international extensively scouted during the course of the season and it is understood that he has made contact with Remy’s representatives over a possible move in the summer, with the prospect of Champions League football appealing to the Frenchman.

Remy has scored 11 goals in 22 games for Alan Pardew’s side so far this season and was linked with a move to the Emirates before he signed for QPR from Marseille a year ago.

With news of the club having £120 million in cash reserve and a shed load of money coming from the new kit sponsorship with Puma, Arsene Wenger and co. can make big deals happen. And a move for Remy would be an ideal one, with the striker wanting to emulate his hero and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

We’ll have to wait and see Wenger steps up his interest at the end of the season.
