What FIVE things did we learn about Arsenal today?

Santi CazorlaAnother weekend down and Arsenal remain on top of the Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 win over Fulham earlier today.

Despite the majority of the possession in the first-half, the Gunners failed to really test Maarten Stekelenburg, with Bacary Sagna’s effort in the penalty area – before Santi Cazorla’s free-kick hit the Fulham wall – being the best of Arsenal’s few opportunities on goal.

But the second-half we saw a different Gunners side come out from the break, not in terms of dominating possession, but because they created and fired more efforts on goal than they did in the first 45, and looked like actually breaking the deadlock.

Just when we thought it was going to be one of those days at the Emirates, our dominance and possession finally paid off, with Cazorla, who hasn’t been at his best recently, bagging a superb brace, thus securing all three points against a side we often defeat on home soil

Top of the table but a long way to go yet.

So what FIVE things did we learn about Arsenal in a relatively comfortable victory over a side struggling at the bottom of the Premier League table?

Arsenal usually have hard time playing teams that defends most.

In as much as i like Giroud, I strongly doubt he is capable of delivering what Arsenal are missing. My point remains that though, he is physically strong and very enthusiastic, but still lacks the quality to subdue a strong opponent and his shootings are often poor.
As a die hard Arsenal fan, it hurts me seeing the likes of Man-city and Chelsea getting ahead of us.

In my honest opinion, the only one solution to take us to that glorious land is sign a better/traditional striker (e.g Jackson Martinez, Alvaro Morata, even Draxler, only if he recovers quickly from current injury), OR if Man-city, Chelsea slip up.

Please, Mr Wenger, if this message can get to you by any chance, we fans want you to consider these number of options.

    Good luck my Arsenal Team!

    Up Gunners!!! COYG!!!

I watch week after week as teams come to the Emirates and set up shop in their own half, and more to the point in their own penalty area, as the gunners try to dance their way through to try and make something happen, yet Özil on several occasions could have had a shot from just outside the box but just didn’t bother (every game he’s played in lately he’s been exactly the same). But if you are going to have shot at least trouble the keeper Giroud was shooting over by the corner flag, (again) or the lamest shots straight at the keeper and Gnabry into row F our passing was at times very sloppy Özil Corzola Giroud all guilty of that again that we won is purely down to our defence yet again who we as a team put under so much unnecessary pressure teams with more class will take better advantage of those slip ups. The first goal opened Fulham up and we could have had 3 or 4 after that with the introduction of Podolski who we don’t see enough of because he isn’t afraid to have a go from outside the box, when we are playing teams who set up camp in their own half Podolski should have come on or in general come into the game sooner he creats space close up or shoots from distance deep defenses have no answer to him.

arsenal should embrase the idea of shooting from distance, expecialy when the opponet chooses to play defencive ball. Moreso, wenger should try to improve his forward because the forword is not realy encouraging.

  • daniel says:

we need a striker to help giroud and also give him a challenge… if we are to be trully confident to win the league…, we should get in a striker.., or a big prospect attacker… A draxler would also be perfect…
    <3 ARSENAL…!!!

  • bad deal,kenya says:

mmmmh !!!! gunners r talking to a deaf and blind proffesor called wenger
mind you he z a proffesor ,BUT in the end ,hope he has a mirror at home sees himself as a stupid one, same old story “penny wise pound foolish”

  • abe says:

Shooting from distance is silly you have to break down teams by being able to pull them out of position or by going pass them, we need truly wide players back on the pitch, quicker passing, and a finisher similar to Walcott as another option to Giroud, and our fans to show more backbone, keep positive and enjoy each game. Finally stop talking about signings it suggests weakness and the right player may not be available this Jan.

On my last point I think Özil is fantastic but I think he could easily be 8-10 goals to the good in the premiership already if he just had a crack at it
