Too good to be true? I reckon so

Diego CostaWe are only into the sixth day of the January transfer window and already we have been linked with a £2 million move for Fulham’s Dimitar Berbatov, Salomon Kalou appears to be back on our radar and Porto’s Jackson Martinez has pretty much issued a ‘come and get me plea’ to Arsene Wenger, after the Colombian newly revealed his admiration for the club and its style of football.

There is no doubt that from now until the end of the month a lot more strikers will be linked with Arsenal, especially with Nicklas Bendtner out for a month, Olivier Giroud looking jaded and Theo Walcott also sidelined for while.

Diego Costa’s name has been making the rounds as of late. Earlier in the month it was reported Arsene Wenger is ready to trigger the Brazilian’s £32 million release clause, which had a majority of the Arsenal faithful excited and praying for it to happen.

Well it seems, according to a tweet from @Futbol_Mercado, that the Gunners have tabled a €38.5 million (£32 million) bid for the Atletico Madrid striker.

The tweet, posted up at 4:47am last night, read:

‘El Arsenal ofrece 38 millones y medio de euros por el delantero brasileño del Atlético de Madrid, Diego Costa.’

Which translates to – Arsenal offer €38.5 million for Atletico’s Brazilian striker Diego Costa.

I don’t know how credible this source actually is, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

Hopefully Arsene does realize that we need another striker to come in this Jan.

Why not Costa?

Expect and prepare for more rumours!

If Arsene Wenger wants a silver ware, he should sign a prolific striker this January. There is no gainsaying about it. Delay could be deadly.

I agree wid Arteta… We cant jst depend upon Giroud to lift a trophy esp NOT de bpl. We need world class strikers not jst any ordinary striker. A true goal poacher is all we need. #afc #goonerfamily
