Antonio SanabriaAntonio Sanabria has rejected the latest contract offered to him by Barcelona, edging him closer to a January move to possibly Arsenal.

Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo claim the 17-year-old and his representatives spurned Barcelona’s initial renewal offer and has, after turning down a second offer, already reached a verbal agreement to join an unnamed club and Arsenal and Roma are the only sides who have been credited with interest in the young forward.

The Paraguay international is close to entering the final 18 months of his current deal at the Camp Nou and has asked to be put up for sale next month.

Should Arsenal or Roma follow up their interest in Sanabria and want to sign the youngster then they must be willing to pay his £2.5 million release clause fee which could later rise to £4.2 million with add-ons.

The Gunners will surely be frontrunners for his signature having acquired several young talents from the Catalan club over the past years.
