He was keen on leaving the Emirates a few summers ago. Hasn’t played for us in two years having sealed two consecutive season long-loan moves to Sunderland and Juventus where he failed to net a goal at the Italian side. Some would say the guy is simply hopeless and Arsenal should get rid once and for all.
However, now this want-away striker, who wasn’t part of the summer clear out, may be of use to Arsene Wenger after all.
If you haven’t guessed already, I am talking about the one and only, self proclaimed ‘best striker’ in the world, Nicklas Bendtner.
The Denmark international has been unable to feature for the Gunners this season after being told to lose some weight before he can even attempt to revive his career at the Emirates.
But does the 25-year-old honestly have a future at Arsenal? More so, does he deserve one more shot to prove his worth to the club?
Unfortunately for us it may look like that he’ll have a future with us. But for how long? We only have one recognized striker in Olivier Giroud and, with the current injury crisis at our club, Bendtner may well be called upon before the winter transfer window opens in January.
I personally don’t think he deserves a second chance. This is a player who openly hinted at their need for a departure from Arsenal, so why should he play if he isn’t happy here? To add to that, Bendtner’s not that good a player. He had potential in the past, but he’s been unable to fulfil it.
The Dane may still be an Arsenal player but I for one wouldn’t lose any sleep if he played for us or not. Interest in him is thought to be high, and seeing him leave in January with a better striker coming in would no doubt be more beneficial for us in the long run.
Should we give him one more chance or has Bendtner burnt all his bridges at Arsenal?
