Jefferson MonteroArsenal are planning to make an emergency move for Jefferson Montero if they fail to land a high-profile name before the end of the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of top names in recent weeks like Real Madrid trio Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria and Mesut Ozil as well as Schalke youngster Julian Draxler.

There has been a rumour flying around the Twitter globe suggesting Arsene Wenger is readying a £40 million move for a German international, with many believing it could be Draxler on his way to the Emirates.

However, with only a day left to go before the market closes, big deals will be difficult to pull off and Wenger has identified 24-year-old Montero as a back up option.

Cardiff have been in negotiations with Montero, who has won 27 caps for Ecuador and played with Santi Cazorla at Villarreal before signing for current club Morelia.

Although predominantly used as a left winger, Montero can also be deployed as an emergency striker – two positions Arsenal could do with strengthening following the departure of Marouane Chamakh to Crystal Palace and long-term suffered by Lukas Podolski and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

    He’s not very “special” Arsene.

This guy is 170cm or 5ft 7 inches in height. Reyes was slightly taller and kicked around until he got fed up and left.
If Wenger goes and buys this guy,it will show he has gone bonkers with his value for money approach. If the gunners lose to Spurs, expect he gunners to be uncompetitive and
he will have to held accountable.

It’s a pity for Arsene Wenger who lied to the fans that he’s gonna sign only special talent, instead of him to go look for players that are sepcial talent like he did said, now he’s looking around for average players who are not worth wearing the Arsenal jersey at all.

Despite arsene wenger reluctance to do the needful (buy players),arsenal quality remains unquestionable, totteham, liverpool aren’t threat, my fear is the lack of depth and tendency of our players getting injured along the line, we can do with three quality players plus a goalkepper and hope our injured players get back on time
