Less than eight days to go in this years summer transfer window and Arsenal are yet to spend.
The Gunners have been linked with a long list of players over the past few months, but none of the reported targets have joined Arsene Wenger’s side.
As a result, fans began to voice their concerns at the lack of spending after the Villa game, with the blame placed fully on Arsene Wenger, and rightly so.
What can only be seen as a panic bid for Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye a few days ago, rumoured to be around £12 million, which may be Arsene’s way of trying to calm the fans down a little. But the offer was quickly turned down by The Magpies. Something that was expected to be honest.
Despite the rushed bid, do we really need Cabaye though?
Well for starters, the Frenchman possesses Premier League experience, he is a box-to-box midfielder, who has great vision when creating chances and picking out through balls, not to mention he has excellent technique when it comes to dead-ball situations either from the penalty spot or from free kicks and he is also a good finisher. An all round talented midfielder in my opinion.
He isn’t world class in my opinion. But he is an extremely good player who would no doubt add quality and depth to the squad. I’m sure he’d like the opportunity to play for us if a deal ever did materialize.
Despite the manner in which the bid was made, I would very much like to see Cabaye sign for us.

Arsenal need a strong and powerful holding midfielder more than anything else.
Its evident we will not sign anyone. These scrooges handling the club won’t buy anyone. Ask yourself this question. Why did wenger want the transfer window closed before the season starts?? Why are we under bidding for players on purpose?? So forget about expecting a new face.

We need a dmf … a tough experienced anchor to protect the defence. But I don’t think Wenger wants that sort of player. He may well continue with his beautiful, technical attacking football.
Just get rid of wenger he has really taken a great and historical club to near extinction cabaye is really a good player that the club can do with but I can’t see wenger splashing a dim on him.
Yes, if you look at united & city they have depth in any position.. Thats what we need at Arsenal!
Yeah we do need the guy incase of injury 2 either ramsey or arteta or wenger can rotate his team
