Clement GrenierArsenal target Clement Grenier will remain at Lyon, according to the Frenchman’s father.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, with Arsene Wenger expressing his admiration for the Lyon man.

Grenier himself recently stated that he has already made up his mind on which club he will join after declaring he will leave Lyon this summer, with Arsenal the most likely destination for the France Under-21 international.

However, it now appears that he is set to make a u-turn and remain at the Stade de Gerland.

His father, Michel Grenier told Telefoot:

‘I think Clement will be with Lyon next season.’

Grenier, who made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side this season, contributing seven goals and eight assists, has a contract at Lyon until 2014.

While Grenier’s agent, Frederic Guerra, has revealed talks about a potential move to Arsenal are underway, he says no agreement has yet been reached.

Obviously someone one is telling porkies! And I think I know who it is.
