‘It is in advanced stages but it is not done’

|

Yaya SanogoWell it seems Arsene Wenger is keen to strengthen his forward line for next season’s campaign as the Frenchman recently revealed the club are on the verge of finalizing a deal to sign Auxerre striker Yaya Sanogo.

The France Under-21 international is out of contract next month and is in advanced stages of sealing a deal to The Emirates at the end of the season.

Sanogo has netted eight goals in seven appearances for the Ligue 2 club this season and has been capped at 11 times in total for the France Under-19 and Under-21 sides.

Arsenal showed some interest in Sanogo before he signed for Auxerre in 2009, and when asked about a deal for the 6’3’’ Frenchman, Wenger said:

‘It is in advanced stages but it is not done.

‘I am very confident. He is a young promising striker who has a big talent.’

He may not be the top striker we were hoping to see come in this summer but Sanogo looks a decent prospect for the future and under Wenger’s guidance could develop into a good player for our club.

Hopefully Wenger is eyeing up a more star-studded forward, as I can’t see Sanogo, if he signs for Arsenal, playing regularly in the first-team next season.

Another “promising” player who will disappear into the reserves team and be awarded a huge contract for doing nothing…

Another yk touted as the answer to Arsenal’s forward line. VEla,Benthner, etc have all faded .I don’t know but maybe these guys were not given enough time to develop. Time is of the essence and they have to take their chances when drafted into the senior team.
If not,it will be more time wasted and the gunners will have o tp to play catch up,which frankly,is really unacceptable.
