Arsenal have been linked with a summer swoop for Nicola Sansone, according to reports in Italy.
Tuttomercatoweb.com says Arsenal, as well as Liverpool, have watched the Italy Under-21 international on more than one occasion in the second half of the season.
The 21-year-old striker is contracted to Parma until 2016 and it is believed club president Tommaso Ghirardi is aware of the English clubs’ interest.
Sansone made 26 Serie A appearances this season for Parma (17 as a starter) and managed to find the net six times and bag two assists as well.
It is understood Arsene Wenger is looking to recruit a new striker when the summer transfer window, with Gonzalo Higuain and Stevan Jovetic believed to be ‘top targets’, and Yaya Sanogo close to signing for The Gunners from Auxerre.
I definitely want to see a new striker come in this summer. But Sansone is not the man to fire us to trophies next season.
