Guess who’s coming back to Arsenal?

|

Andre SantosWhen Arsenal sent Andre Santos on loan to Gremio in January they thought the Brazilian club would either extend his stay on a temporary basis or attempt to sign the left-back on a permanent deal when his loan deal expires in July.

However, it seems the 30-year-old WILL be heading back to The Emirates as Gremio cannot afford to keep him on their books.

Gremio director Marcos Chitolina said:

‘We signed Andre Santos for Copa Libertadores and his contract expires in July.

‘It would be too expensive for Gremio to renew his contract, he is a very expensive player.’

This may well cause Arsene Wenger an unwanted headache this summer as he looks to offload deadwood, which Santos has evidently become at The Emirates.

Wenger will now have three established left-backs at the club. But I can’t see Santos staying for too long after he returns, especially with the arrival of Nacho Monreal from Malaga during the winter transfer window.

I don’t see a future for Santos, who only made a total of 12 appearances for Arsenal last season before being shipped out on loan, and the quicker he is moved on the better. Not only because the Brazilian has become surplus to requirements and won’t see much playing time next season, but also to reduce the club’s wage bill which can go towards future summer signings (if any).

He’s not the only one park chamakh bendtner are all on their way back. Even denilson and djourous moves are not certain. It could be another long summer. Deadwood staying missed signings ans our best players getting itchy feet.

E he he heeh! So Gremio have indeed referred a one Andre Santos back to the Arsenal! But who would want this giant flop in their squad unless it is Arsenal where he has more than enough good company of his class of “soccer stars” i.e. Bendtner, Chamakh, arshavin, Diaby, Squillaci, Djourou etc? And a (non-winning Manager, a one Wenger) to match the talent that he “scouts” lately!
