Galatasaray consider summer swoop for out-of-favour Gunner

|

Lukas PodolskiGalatasaray are considering a summer move for Lukas Podolski.

Turkish newspaper Express suggests Fatih Terim will attempt to sign the German forward at the end of the season as he looks to add depth and quality to his squad. The Istanbul club tried on two occasions to sign the out-of-favour Arsenal striker when he was playing in the Bundesliga.

Podolski signed for The Gunners last summer from FC Koln, and it’s fair to say he has endured a mixed season at The Emirates. Despite netting 14 goals in all competitions so far this season, the 27-year-old has only managed to start five of Arsenal’s last 15 games and is quickly becoming a bit-part player at the club.

Despite been given a rare start against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, Podolski has struggled to challenge Olivier Giroud for the lone centre-forward role and last month threw his future in doubt.

It’s a strange one, that’s for sure. I don’t know why Podolski hasn’t seen more action than he has done this season and why he has dropped down the pecking order.

I would like to see him remain at Arsenal as he works hard for the team and has ability, but for some reason Arsene Wenger favours others ahead of him.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Podolski this summer. Hopefully nothing does!

Podolski isn’t out of favour you dik

  • TT says:

Podolski will have an ankle operation this summer. He has been played sparingly, because the injury is at risk of flaring up.

If you are going to write articles, you need to research your facts better.

Funny I can’t recall Podolski throwing his Arsenal future in doubt, it was media hype.

  • Niranjith says:

Whenever he started as LW he had given his maximum assistance to Giroud walcott and Cazorla. He is not at all out of favour for me.

Sell Giroud – he plays like he is out for a stroll. Where did this author read about “out of favor” Podolski?
