Surely this will put Wenger on red alert?

|

Julio CesarSome good news coming out of the QPR camp, especially if your name is Arsene Wenger – Julio Cesar recently admitted that he wants to stay in London even if the R’s are relegated from the Premier League.

The Brazilian shot-stopper made the shock move to Loftus Road from Inter Milan in the summer and has been one of very few consistent performers for the club in an otherwise horrible season for Harry Redknapp’s men.

QPR are highly likely to be playing Championship football next season following their latest result against fellow relegation strugglers Wigan on Sunday afternoon. And it seems Cesar wants to play in the top-flight of English football rather than the Championship or making a return to Italy for that matter.

the 33-year-old said:

‘I’m learning a new language in London, the city is beautiful and my family is happy.

‘I was certainly not treated well by Inter. I love Italy, but I’ve been won over by the environment here.’

If Cesar were to hand in a transfer request in the summer then there will be no shortage of interest from several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and us.

The Brazilian still has three-and-a-half years left to run on his existing contract, but his price-tag will almost certainly drop if, or rather, when QPR are relegated.

And with Cesar expressing his desire to stay in London, this would leave him with, ideally, three options – Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs.

However, his best bet would be to join us over the other two, as Chelsea are fully confident with Petr Cech, while Spurs have Hugo Lloris as their number one.

Hopefully Cesar’s words will alert Wenger, as the it seems the Frenchman wants to recruit a more seasoned goalkeeper ahead of the new season.
