Gunners eye up Real Madrid great

|

Iker CasillasThe Metro reports Arsenal are considering a summer swoop for overlooked Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas!

Casillas, who has made over 450 appearances for Real, has fallen out-of-favour with Jose Mourinho and is no longer considered first-choice at the Bernabeu, losing his place to Diego Lopez in January.

However, things could well change for the 31-year-old at the end of the season if Mourinho decides to call it quits and move on.

Arsenal are believed to be on the look out for a new, experienced goalkeeper in the summer, with Wojciech Szczesny’s future in doubt and Lukasz Fabianski not a fan favourite.

Reports suggest Casillas would be interested in a move to the Premier League, but I firmly believe his future at Real all depends on what Mourinho does at the end of the current campaign.

If Mourinho stays then Iker could well hand in a transfer request, which will in turn alert a lot of top European clubs.

Casillas would be an outstanding signing for us in my opinion. But I just don’t see him joining us even if he were to leave Real Madrid.

Let’s see what happens.
