Reports in France claim Paris Saint-Germain striker Kevin Gameiro will be allowed to leave the Ligue 1 big-spenders at the end of the season.
The France international has failed to make an impression under Carlo Ancelotti, starting just four Ligue 1 games this season.
Gameiro is keen to get his career back on track and was one of the most prolific forward’s in the French league prior to his move to PSG with Lorient.
The news of Gameiro’s despair will almost certainly put Arsene Wenger on red alert, as he looks to bolster his attacking options in the summer.
Arsenal have been linked with the former Lorient forward in the past and TalkSPORT claim French newspaper Le Parisien suggests that The Gunners could be in for the 25-year-old when the transfer window opens.
But should Arsenal reignite their interest in Gameiro?
Personally, I think we should be keeping an eye on him.
He still has two years left to run on his existing contract, so he won’t come cheap, that’s for sure.
However, with news suggesting Arsenal have cash to splash at the end of the season, signing the Frenchman wouldn’t pose much of a problem.
Gameiro is a good striker, but he has, unfortunately, better players in front of him at PSG. He possesses great movement, technical ability and, despite his poor scoring record this season, has an eye for goal.
I say we keep an eye on him and see what his asking-price is. If it’s not a huge transfer fee then I say we make a move for him. We certainly need more options upfront, that’s for sure!
Here is a video of Gameiro when he was at Lorient:
