Gunners plot combined £18M bid for QPR duo if Hoops go down

|

Loic RemyArsenal are planning to bring in both Christopher Samba and Loic Remy for a combined sum of £18 million if QPR go down.

Samba and Remy signed for Harry Redknapp’s side in January from Anzhi and Marseille respectively and have both been in impressive form for the London club.

However should The Hoops be relegated from the Premier League, several players of the club, including the proposed duo in question, could look to depart for pastures new and for a cut-price as well.

The Gunners were monitoring the duo before they both signed for QPR, but with Arsene Wenger looking to shore up his attacking options as well as bolster his defensive line, the Daily Star Sunday suggests the Frenchman could renew his interest in them once again.

But would they make astute signings should QPR be willing to sell and the players themselves want to leave Loftus Road.

Despite his powerful presence and Premier League experience, I think we should steer clear of Samba. Although I think he could add something to our back-line, he always finds himself relegated or facing the drop. Perhaps he needs a chance to prove he is a big-time player, but I don’t think Arsenal should take a risk on the 28-year-old, maybe two years ago, but not now.

As for Remy, I highly rate him and would have loved for us to sign him in January, but unfortunately it seems we weren’t really interested in him as reports suggested.

The 26-year-old’s pace, power and movement would suit our style of play perfectly and he knows where the goal is as well, three goals in five games this season for QPR is not a bad return is it? He is also very versatile and reminds me a little of Thierry Henry due to his off the ball movement and pace. And Under the tutelage of Wenger, Remy may not become our next Thierry, but he could certainly turn into a very dynamic player for our club.

Samba would be well worth the investment remy less so

No point signing Remy when Giroud is there and his finishing aint up to the mark. Again Arsenal will be going for cheaper alternatives and not spend much to sign a top quality striker. So it is better they change that and sign someone else adding 10 odd million more

Remy is not prolific enough at least giroud was top scorer in ligue 1 last term and has done reasonably over here so far as he could well top 20 goals this season
