We know Per, we know

|

Per MertesackerSo the FA Cup game against Blackburn is just around the corner and the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich is drawing nearer, day by day. Yet still our players feel the need to comment and say that it is important to progress.

This is a recent quote from Per Mertesacker:

‘We still have an important cup game on Saturday (first) – we absolutely want to advance in the FA Cup, that is why the preparations for Bayern are not that intense yet.

‘However, beginning on Sunday the preparations for Tuesday’s match will be extreme.

‘Bayern are doing superb this year and that is a big challenge for us, but we are looking forward to both legs.’

Now is it only me or does this sound like an excuse, just incase they don’t win on Saturday against Rovers or against the German giants next week?

Why does Per need to state that they are training for the FA Cup tie? Surely we all know this and want the team to progress without being told that they are more focused on a team that Arsenal have played against a lot over the past 10 years or so?

I really don’t think we need reminding that Arsenal FC are struggling to see a final in the last few years.

What would you expect him to say? tonight is laundry night and he is looking forward to fresh shirts and pants? He is looking forward to the Strictly final and would one day like to enter the German franchise of it? Honestly, there are a lot of issues at the club but this kind of bitching and moaning is no more ‘My Arsenal’ than the flags on seats and incredulous press releases. This reply was painful to write, God knows what that article took out of you!
