‘Vieira can be a candidate if he wants to do it’

|

Patrick VieiraWith Gunners legend Liam Brady stepping down as Arsenal’s head of youth development next year, Arsene Wenger has pinpointed Patrick Vieira as an ideal candidate to take up the role.

Brady has held the position since July 1996 but will call it a day after the conclusion of next season’s campaign and Arsene Wenger will be eager to find a successor to step right in.

Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp have already been linked to the post, which will no doubt leave Arsenal fans excited, but many would perhaps like to see the former come in as he has more experience over the latter.

Vieira is currently working at Manchester City as the club’s football development executive, but Wenger would love to be reunited with the player he brought from AC Milan back in 1996 for £3.5 million.

The Frenchman said:

‘Patrick Vieira can be a candidate if he wants to do it. Experience plays a big part in that.’

It would be great to see the Frenchman take up the role as he already has experience under his belt, and I’m sure he would be very tempted to return to the club that made him and work with Wenger again.
