Arsenal were once linked with a move for the 22-year-old centre-back, but the Frenchman decided to commit his future to the Ligue 1 side, signing an extension until 2014.
However, since Carlo Ancelotti has taken charge of PSG, Sakho has suffered to get game time. The defender was stripped of the captain’s armband by the former Chelsea boss and has dropped down the pecking order behind Thiago Silva, Milan Bisevac and Alex. In addition, he was also told by club director, Leonardo, that he was ‘slightly overweight’.
Despite being a youth product of PSG, Sakho now appears to be seeking a summer exit from Parc des Princes if things do not change quickly.
The France international said:
‘I cannot accept playing just a few minutes this season and next because this is a decisive moment in my career.
‘At the end of the season I will sit down with my agent and club officials and clear up the situation.
‘If I have to leave PSG to keep my place in the France national team, then I have no choice but to leave.’
If Sakho does decide to call it quits in the summer, should The Gunners look to renew their interest in him?
