Arjen Robben has backed Jack Wilshere to become a football great.
Wilshere was one of the few positives in Tuesday’s 3-1 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich at The Emirates.
And with The Gunners highly likely to finish yet another season without a trophy, many will ask how long a player of Wilshere’s calibre will hang around for if things don’t change for the better.
Robben for one reckons the tenacious midfielder could very well leave Arsenal in the future if they are not winning trophies.
The Bayern winger has no idea what the future holds for the 21-year-old but insists the England international will be on all of Europe’s major clubs wanted list if indeed he decides to depart The Emirates.
Quoted in the Daily Star, the 29-year-old Dutchman said:
‘I don’t know if Arsenal can keep him if they are not winning things. It’s always difficult to judge that about another player.
‘But you can see that Wilshere is a very big talent and he is only young still, he’s just 21 years old. He will definitely be a big player.’
Jack is Gooner through and through. He loves the club dearly and recently signed a new long-term contract at The Emirates. Wilshere will no doubt captain Arsenal one day, as he has the leadership quality to do so.
But if the club do not progress in the right direction and ultimately lift titles, whether this is the Capital One Cup or Premier League trophy, will he follow in the footsteps of other great players that have left the club in the past? Unfortunately we don’t know the answer to this question, only Jack does.

I can only see Jack going to Man U in the future but I think he will end up like Gerrard and Lampard club legends.

If Wenger leaves, all bets are off. If Wenger goes, I could see Jack leaving eventually.

He loves the club, but he is still young and motivated to win trophies.
Its about time that Wenger realizes that keeping top players is more important than deals that make “business sense” like the on with RvP

Who is to say that we wont start winning trophies again shortly. There is the nucleus of a good team there and wilshere is an important part of that.Anyway hes under contract for the next five years so its not an issue just now

well robben you’re not an ex arsenal player, nor an english international, the closest link between u n arsenal is chelsea. so to say, u are very stupid to make a comment regarding a player u barely know, it’s quite laughable! what a douche.

I didnt notice “arry” getting slaughtered in the tabloid press this morning despite presiding over an impressive slide towards the championship.Wright, stewart robson et al should stand back for the rest of the season and try supporting the players we have as there can be no changes now until summer
