Arsene Wenger wholeheartedly believes Cesc Fabregas WILL return to Arsenal in the near future.

The 25-year-old Spaniard left Arsenal after eight years of service to join boyhood club Barcelona in 2011.

However, Wenger reckons the former Gunners skipper, who made 303 appearances for the north London club, will once again wear the famous red and white jersey, but not for another two, three years.

The Frenchman was quoted in The Sun today saying:

‘Cesc is a world-class player. I’m not convinced he won’t come back here one day. He’s an Arsenal man.

‘He loves Arsenal. He watches every Arsenal game.

‘Barcelona was his home town where he grew up and you have to accept this – especially as Barcelona are the best team in the world.

‘In the next two or three years it certainly will not happen – but maybe later.’

I for one would love to see Cesc back at Arsenal and agree with Wenger that he could eventually return to us in the near future, depending on what transpires over the years.

He has pretty much won everything there is to win at Barcelona. The only thing that eludes him on his list is the La Liga title, which he will almost definitely scoop up this season with the Catalan club.

I personally think his return to Arsenal will more than likely depend on whether he becomes a permanent fixture for the Barca side in years to come. Plus if the manager likes him as a player.

I love Arsenal but why on Earth is Wenger talking such crap. for a start Fabregas is a world class player (which leaves Arsenal out of the running immediately) and secondly Arsenal are, if I am honest nothing but a lovely stadium with nothing to fill it – Wenger really HAS to go…
