Despite recently claiming there are no players available to be had this month, Arsene Wenger has confirmed The Gunners are ready to battle Manchester United for Crystal Palace ace Wilfired Zaha.

Zaha has been heavily linked with a move away from Selhurst Park and United appear to be frontrunners for the 20-year-old’s signature, with the Red Devils chief executive David Gill recently announcing their interest in the young forward.

A £12 million deal is apparently being lined up by United this month which would see Zaha remain on loan at Palace until the end of the season.

However, Wenger is not yet ready to give up his pursuit of the England international.

The Frenchman said:

‘We are looking at Zaha, but there has been no bid.

‘Whenever you call about any player, Man United or Milan are also interested.’

Well Mr. Wenger, I suggest if you are in fact looking and interested in signing Zaha this transfer window then you get a move on with it, before its too late.

Although Zaha looks a talented young footballer, I personally would rather see Wenger go out and sign a proven striker.

Erm…I think you’ll find he is an England international you dickhead – came on for the senior squad against Sweden in a friendly on the 14th of November. get your facts straight before you insult someone.

Bit of a misleading title. England international usually means senior squad. Zaha is an U21 player. England hopeful or England Prospect would’ve been more accurate

He has played for the senior squad. Came on as a sub against Sweden when they battered us. So the title isn’t misleading at all.

Glad to see Walcott committing his near future to the club. Now we can concentrate on the big games of the next month and maybe if Diaby stays fit we can prosper
