So far, so good

Its day 5 of the January transfer window and while we have yet to sign anyone, even on loan, it’s good to see the club getting rid of some of the deadwood.

Both Marouane Chamakh and Johan Djourou have sealed end-of-season loan deals to West Ham and Hannover respectively.

They haven’t perhaps made the permanent switches that we were hoping for, but hey, at least they are off our books for the next six months, thus freeing up some space in the wage budget to possibly make a move for that ‘exceptional’ player Arsene Wenger is always going on about.

All we need now is for other flops to follow in Chamakh’s and Djourou’s footsteps, the likes of Abou Diaby, regrettably, Andrey Arshavin, Sebastien Squillaci, Andre Santos, the list is endless.

But while I would love to see the abovementioned players leave, I would also like to see Wenger make some signings in the next 25 days.

In my opinion, I think we are in need of three players – a back-up goalkeeper, another left-back and, most importantly, a proper holding midfielder.

We need someone in our ranks to guard the goal when Wojciech Szczesny is unavailable. Vito Mannone did well at the start of the season, but he has yet to prove he can actually challenge the Pole for his starting position. There are a few decent goalkeepers out there, like Simon Mignolet and Asmir Begovic, who Wenger could bring in for a good price.

Although Kieran Gibbs is a guarantee in the side, if he picks up an injury we’re screwed. Andre Santos is crap, that’s why we need to acquire either acquire a promising left-back or a more experienced one – Luke Shaw or Leighton Baines will do.

Now I think the weak link in our side does not lie in our forward-line – we can score goals – I believe we are missing that man in the middle who breaks up play and gets stuck in. Mikel Arteta has been deployed in the holding midfield role and although he has done well in the position, dictating play and showcasing his passing range, he is simply NOT a robust defensive midfielder. If we manage to sign one of these, a top, top player in this position, I think our team would have more balance to it. Thing is, I don’t know who this player is.

As stated earlier in this piece, its still early days in January transfer window but so far, so good.

What make u think buying Falcao will solve our problem? on my own point of view many funs & pundit fail to distinguish btwn Wenger technical ability and Viera leadership during those damned days. Since left the team Arsenal have never recovered again neither Wenger have not win any trophy either. So I don’t believe in Wenger, I believe in Viera’s leadership that made Arsenal “The Invincible”. Anyone think contrary on this opinion feel free to challenge them.I rest my case.

How young are some people on here? its like there is something new going on (selling our best players and blaming the board and manager) well i have only been following the club for 44 years and this is nothing new. arsenal has always sold their best players. i remember as a kid losing ayers lile kennedy george brady and stapleton to our closest rivals that continued with the likes of vieira overmas petit and henry and of late nasri cesc song and rvp. believe me its nothing new and will be around arsenal as long as we are owned the way we are owned and set up the way we are. share price is massively important to the investors. people forget that arsenal football club is just one of a group of companies owned by the arsnal holdings group of companies. selling assets and making profit is essential to the group. that is why and how we mived to a new stadium as the opportunity to purchase land and dwellings around the old stadium proved to be too mouth watering for the investors involved. i have sharez in the club and have seen them rise from £280 per share to a recent high of £17,500. so do i think the board is doing wrong well financially NO of course not and only a mug would say so. For me there is only one group of people to blame and that is the players they are quite simply shirkers. nasri song cesc and rvp all contributed to the recent barren years in one way or another. All 4 have left and sure they might be be picking up trophies but only rvp is really making an impact and just wait till an injury hits him. he will be back on the comfort of his treatment table only this time with 3 times the salary. Nasri is a bit part player just like cesc and song who has been voted the 2nd worst signing of the season in spain. I want to see the club build around the british core that has recently commited to the club not just with british but with players that want to wear the arsenal shirt wherever we play. not join us just cos we are in the champions league but players that want to go to bradford on rainy night roll up their sleeves and fight for the badge. we need to sign some winners and we need to develop some winners too. the offloading of shirkers has begun in full bendtner denilson park have now been joined by chamakh and djourou. whilst he is not really a shirker he is not of the ability that we need. arshavin fabianski squillaci santos diaby and gervinho yet more players that shirk responsibility or lack ability get em out i would rather lose with the kids than lose with that lot. we have a very good young crop of players szcesney jenkinson gibbs wilshire coquelin ramsey chamberlain eisfeld yennaris aneke meade gnabry jebb akpom lipman irmonde-ottewill jeffrey hayden angha bellerin toral olsson and one or two more plus some outstanding experienced players like sagna mertesacker koscielny vermaelen arteta cazorla and i believe giroud. with one or two additions this month we could still turn the corner finish in the top 3 and pick up a cup.

Given away Gooner.com ,security says to risky.!

Also, given away Arsene Wenger, my opinion, too risky.!

Thirty percent of his signing have been fair to good, 70% crap.
He can`t select players, he can`t select a match eleven, he can`t select captains and he hesitates to take advantage of the market and his match tactics could be bettered by the average supporter.

He and his cronies have given us a medica Arsenal.
