SIX strikers Wenger could try and sign before the end of the month

|

4. Adrian Lopez – Atletico Madrid

The Atletico Madrid forward has been tracked by Wenger for almost a year now, but again, the Frenchman, according to reports, is unwilling to meet the player’s release clause in his contract (£14 million).

Despite being overlooked at Atletico, Lopez recently stated he is not fazed about the rumours linking him with a move to The Emirates and surprisingly wants to stay at the Vicente Calderon.

But I think if Arsenal stepped up their interest further and offered the 25-year-old a healthy wage package he would most certainly reconsider his stance.

5. Stevan Jovetic – Fiorentina

His flair, composure, vision, first touch and technical ability has drawn comparisons to that of the legendary Dennis Bergkamp – what else could you ask for?

The Montenegro international has found the net eight times in 16 appearances for Fiorentina so far this season and has an asking price of £25 million.

If Wenger truly wants to add another striker to the side before the window shuts then he would be wise to consider splashing the cash on the exciting Jovetic.

£25 million isn’t that much is it?

6. Stephan El Shaarawy – AC Milan

Wenger has expressed his interest in the young Frenchman in the past and with AC Milan struggling in Serie A this season, now would be the right time to turn interest into a move.

El Shaarawy, 20, has superb technical ability, an eye for goal and pace to burn, making him an ideal acquisition for Arsenal this January.

The two stumbling blocks for this deal to occur, however, is El Shaarawy’s loyalty to the Rossoneri, being a life-long fan of the club, and Wenger’s willingness to actually spend a hefty sum of cash for one unique talent.

12-15m for a 29 y.o. striker with 6 caps.. Oh we bought one at the age of 26 with ~100 caps.. Seriously?

Gomis is so shite even the Lyon fans want him out, Giroud is five times better in every aspect. He’s a slow player with good heading ability, vey much in the Chamakh type.

Villa & Shaarawy are impossible deals.

Jovetic and Lopez are the only two possible (and worthwile) ones, but the former is very expensive at 25m. Lopez, who know. Maybe if atletico wants to sell, which is not the case right now, as they stand 6-7 points ahead real madrid.

Our team has no problem scoring goals but we do have problems preventing them,so why all this talk of centre forwards. It might behove us to add a decent centre back central Midfielder. The centre forward situation can wait till the summer

From what I saw Saturday we had better get a back up left fullback. Santos’ current form means that our entire season depends on Gibbs staying healthy.

Worry about the striker in the summer.
