My thoughts on the 2-0 loss to Swansea

Two words spring to mind – major reinforcement.

The January transfer window will undoubtedly be a very, very period for Arsenal FC. It’ll, in my opinion, determine whether we’ll take part in the prestigious Champions League next season or not.

To me, this Arsenal side is average. It’s a squad filled with players who are either world class or very mediocre.

Needless to say, it’s a very depressing time to be a Gooner. Our performances over the last few games have been disappointing and I’m utterly deluded that we don’t even put up a fight to challenge for the title. Losing is part of the game and I’m surprised we didn’t concede more than two today against a resilient Swansea side. They were by far the better team and deserved all the points.

We need top class additions to come in this winter and help us achieve our goals. If this doesn’t occur then a top four finish will more than likely beyond us this season.

It was good to see Thomas Vermaelen back to his best, and I hope he maintains his form. But we need to up our game drastically in the upcoming weeks.

If we are going to sign anyone this January then I hope we sign them from the Premier League. We need players who are experienced and determined to come in and strengthen our squad.

Let’s hope Le Prof we’ll act in a shrewd way after yet another poor result and display.

Lets hope he resigns so he doesn’t need to act he has been acting for long enough.

1.It will never happen,Wenger never believes in major surgery.
    2.Money are not available.
3.Next season will be without CL and the sponsor money will go towards covering debt payments.

Money IS AVAILABLE and has been available for the last 3 years. What is NOT available is a Manager / Coach who can win anything without the old back 4 (5) …. which was in fact the basis for the trophies he used to win. It was NEVER about the Wenger Grand Plan which for 6 – 7 years has been about his passion for tactically unchanging, beautiful (ineffective) intellectual football.

Did anyone see the sky interview with wenger, well all was evident to see. Wenger looked lost of idea’s,and was just asking the soul less board to put him out of his misery. It’ not about spending money, it’s about the manager who has lost the confidence of the players and who is lost of idea’s. But he knows that the board will never sack him, so he just carries on with this average team.TIME FOR WENGER TO LEAVE

  • the king says:

well the truth his wenger failed.
    8 years won nothing
his youth idea has gone out the window.
all the player he bought soon as they become world class he sold them.
    made the profit.
the club dose not want to give players good wages
yet wenger get paid the highest in P.L
and gazides the same . and his also given him self a pay rise. its a joke how this club is bring run.

we the fans are being taken for muggs

Having grown accustomed to losing the big games now we must suffer them losing the small ones too.from what I gather the team were second best.Wenger needs to go home tonight and make plans to cut loose about eight of that 25 man squad. As it stands he’d be better off playing some of the younger ones.Surely they couldnt do any worse than the seniors

  • Lobster says:

I feel so weak and defeated, I feel like a dispaointment to my Club like the many other weak-hearted arsenal fans I see out there… My loyalty to our manager and ,to some extent, our players is beginning to falter, I can’t call myself a real Gooner if I’m losing hope in our club

    • chris from Cambridge says:

Some fans lost confidence in the Wenger regime several years ago. Some folk do not seem to understand he only won those trophies 10 – 15 years ago because he inherited the old back 4(5). If he had inherited £150m and a blank sheet of paper he would have won jack shit.

  • Wenger is clueless right now, it just goes to show how poor he is with mediocre players.
Players like Gervinho, Ox, Ramsey, Coquelin are guys that need to go out on loan and not Arsrenal quality not forgetting Jeckinson and Gibbs that cankt even cross the ball as full backs including Sagna.
No player like Kanu, Henry, Pires, Palour, Gilberto, Dixon, Viera, Adams, Bergkamp, Winterburn, the list goes one.
Quality players like Arteta and Carzola can’t even stop loosing the ball.
Let him buy within the league.

  • guy says:

Correct me if i’m wrong, but did i just read “It was good to see Thomas Vermaelen back to his best, and I hope he maintains his form” you must be dreaming if you thought he is even up to the standard of not only being a starting CB for a supposed to be top European club but captaining that club, plain and simple, he cannot defend.

  • ivorstephens says:

Viera Henry et al were from an era where arsenal competed on wages. Now they _rightly_ refuse to I mean look at Torres and luiz kolo toure and half of city’s squad. The problem isnt the money on offer its that they cant decide what kind of team they want to be.He employs neat intricate players like Arteta and cazorla and then denies them a midfield guardian.Giroud is not quick enough to be the focal point of our attack.Walcott spends as much time impersonating a Sunday morning footballer as he does an established international.Oxlade Chamberlain is withering through being ignored.Searching your soul as Wenger is bound to be doing is all well and good but only he is in a position to alter the course of our season. You wouldnt mind but this is the weakest the top flight has been for many years

  • hottspring says:

our arsenal should beat Swansea regardless on how we play,
our arsenal is not a mid table team
our arsenal should be winning trophies every season
our arsenal should have quality players
our arsenal is not a limited company where profits ,players wage cut and executives salaries are increased
    THIS IS NOT OUR ARSENAL
    WE WANT OUR ARSENAL BACK.
