Arsenal have rejected a £2.5 million bid from Galatasaray for Andre Santos, reports The Sun.
The 29-year-old left-back, who joined The Gunners from Turkish outfit Fenerbahce for around £6.5 million just 18 months ago, has only featured on the odd occasion this season and after his embarrassing half-time shirt swap with former Gunner Robin van Persie at Old Trafford a few months ago, the Brazilian looks set to leave The Emirates in the upcoming January transfer window at a cut-price.
Arsenal are looking to recoup at least £5 million for the stocky defender in January, but this may prove a tough task for Arsene Wenger and co.
Personally, I don’t think any team out there will pay over £5 mill, let alone £3 million, for Santos.
I believe only two teams have registered their interest in the Brazil international, that being Galatasaray and former club Fenerbahce. So I say sell him to the highest bidder.
He is not good enough for Arsenal, thus he must be sold next month…even if we make a loss!

It strikes me that, if the statement made by arsene wenger was reported accurately, it highlights his old fashioned values. Modern players are very much looking to get as much as they can as soon as they can. Theo has become a better player after years of honing. I am afraid that if he wants to sell himself to the highest bidder, arsene can do nothing about it. The club may well have to plan for the future without him and if so will still be ok.
Sell santos u flaming idiots or well end up playing him maybe another 5 times whilst losing more than the 2.5mill your holding out for in wages before we end up selling him for about 2mill in a years time.
we lucky that any team is even making an offer for him. lets hope wenger dose not become too greedy
or he will stay like bender and squillaci that no other team will want.

and also some new young young player for the academy.
So when Gibbs gets injured along with TV or Kos, we can scream at Wenger for letting Santos go.
You are all so fickle. Your memories so short. Santos is not a great player but he’s just fine as a backup. Last year he had some very good games and was prefered over gibbs… now he doesnt deserve to wear an Arsenal shirt. Blah blah blah. A few months ago everyone was crapping on Walcott. Now everyone wants him signed. Fickle fickle fools.
