On Friday, The Sun reported Paris St Germain want to sign Bacary Sagna in the summer.
And with reports suggesting that the 30-year-old right-back is unsatisfied with the club offer of a one-year extension to his current deal, which runs out in 2014, could the Frenchman be the next big star to depart next year?
Well he hasn’t done himself any favours when, in September, he publicly criticised the club’s transfer policy and the summer sales of Robin van Persie and Alex Song. His outburst, however true it may be, didn’t go down well with Arsene Wenger, who defiantly stated that whoever is not happy at the club is free to leave.
So far this season, Sagna has made just eight appearances in 24 matches played, and although he was injured at the start of the campaign, it seems the Frenchman is not a guaranteed starter these days.
As well as not splashing the cash, Wenger is renowned for his policy of offering a player of 30 or over one-year extensions, so to be fair, Sagna shouldn’t be too surprised with what’s been put on the table.
Is he off in the summer? Well his contract expires in 2014 so he doesn’t necessarily need to be offloaded. However, if Arsenal want to recoup some cash then it would be best to get rid of him ASAP. In addition, why keep an unhappy player at the club?

Let him go; but get us a very good substitute – not a second hand French player.

He is even aging. Let him go if he so wished.
