Just when we thought Demba Ba was on his way to Arsenal, Paris St Germain decide to throw a spanner in the works – and it looks like the Senegal striker is re-re-thinking (not a typo) his options once again.
Arsenal were thought to be frontrunners for the Newcastle forward’s signature, with the 27-year-old supposedly signing for us on the 1st of January for £7.5 million.
However, mega-rich PSG have newly expressed their interest in Ba, who has netted 11 goals in 19 Premier League appearances for Newcastle
And despite recently claiming Arsenal are a club that ‘make you dream’, which in football terms translates to ‘come and get me’, Ba would prefer to join his boyhood heroes PSG.
The Senegal international said:
‘I look at PSG as a fan, as a supporter.
‘I have never concealed my attraction to the club as a fan, which I have been since I was little.
‘Now they [PSG] are doing big and important things, and have big plans for the future.’
He added:
‘Of course I’d like to play in the colours of a team I support.’
So it looks like Ba will be on his way to PSG when they do eventually come knocking, which will undoubtedly come as another blow to Arsene Wenger, who is supposedly looking to bolster his attack over the winter period.

Good luck to both ba and Paris st germain.I dont think that he would fit well with arsenal so missing out on him wouldn’t concern me overly.Im sure Wenger has a couple of tricks up his sleeve for January.
It’s difficult to buy a striker and say you are committed to Theo.

I see a loan move for David Villa was touted in some of the papers this morning.That would be a perfect short term solution for us.Forget Demba Ba,Villa is a proper centre forward and we would suit each other.Chelsea wont buy him as he might wind up overshadowing st.Fernando as he has done for Spain in the last few years.An initial loan with a review in the summer would be good business.Arsene can finance it by flogging Arshavin to whichever Russian is thick enough to buy him and by moving on some of our dead wood.Villa might import some of Barcas professionalism with him rather like Toure did for Man City.Either way he’d be of more use than Thierry Henry
