‘Arsenal are one of those teams who makes you dream’

|

Demba Ba has recently expressed his admiration for Arsenal, saying they are a club that ‘makes you dream’.

The Senegal international has yet to sign a new deal at Newcastle in order to scrap the reported £7.5 million buyout clause which is in his initial contract he signed in the summer of 2011.

As a result, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, as well as others, are chasing the striker, though Newcastle are desperate to keep hold of the former West Ham forward.

However, his latest comments will no doubt spread concern among St. James’ Park and subsequently optimism around The Emirates.

Apparently, Ba knows of Arsenal’s interest and claims he could be the man to strengthen their forward line this winter.

The Daily Mail reports Ba told Canal+ on Sunday evening:

‘I have nothing to say about those speculations [with Arsenal]. Nothing has happened.

‘The media know Arsenal need another striker and they know about my release clause. They need to make their own mind up about it.

‘Arsenal are one of those teams who makes you dream.’

Ba has scored 11 goals in 17 appearances so far in the Premier League for Alan Pardew’s side and, after hearing the Senegalese’s praise towards Arsenal FC, Arsene Wenger will surely meet the forward’s release clause when the January transfer window opens.

Strange that statement allegedly made by Dembe Ba. He is to my mind a dream signing for us Gunners. With speed, witts and clever tricks he has more hunger than the starving in the horn of Africa and would definitely score few more than ppl at our club.

With our team denuded of all quality players after sales of the of the players in the last 3-4 years, we are so poor our first team cant get past a league 2 outfit in a shootout. Wenger needs to sort things out or he will leave a very bad legacy which would be a shame. Our team needs at least 5 players of quality to return somewhere near where we were 2004.

I dont think demba ba is suitable for our club/team/style of play. There are enough goals in our team as it is,and there is no guarantee that his knee wil hold up.Knowing our luck we would invest in him and he’d keel over after a month. In a cash-conscious time, I’d keep the 7.5 million for someone that would improve the team for definite, for example MVila or some such.
