Why now is the right time for Wenger to pursue this French enforcer

French football expert Julien Laurens reckons Yann M’Vila’s valuation will decrease ‘massively’ following his latest off-field antics, which could/should put Arsene Wenger on red alert.

The 22-year-old has been banned by the FFF from playing any international football until 2014 after an authorised night out while on Under-21 duty.

While this may not bold well for him on a professional level, the recent news of M’Vila’s demise will undoubtedly alert the big European clubs, who were reportedly chasing the Rennes midfielder in the summer.

And Laurens believes the France international could be nabbed at a bargain price in a few months time.

The French journalist said:

‘His value in the transfer market will decrease massively now because of all the problems on the pitch in the last three years.’

He added:

‘He could become a good bargain in a few months time, clearly for certain clubs.’

Arsenal offloaded Alex Song to Barcelona in the summer, a gamble which, I think its fair to say, hasn’t paid off for Wenger. Wenger had been hoping Abou Diaby would’ve filled the void, but the French midfielder has, yet again, suffered injuries.

Mikel Arteta has been deployed by Wenger to sit in the defensive midfield role for the past season, but, although he has done pretty well in this position, the Spaniard is not a natural.

Before his latest fiasco, I believe M’Vila was valued by Rennes at around £16-17 million. Now if, like Laurens claims, M’Vila’s valuation will decrease massively, then Arsenal must pursue the Frenchman at all costs. He would certainly fill the void left by Song. He has a great understanding of the game, is a powerful figure in midfield and has great passing ability.

We should definitely make an enquiry for M’Vila’s services when the January transfer window opens.

He isn’t that good. We really need .PL proven players. Fellaini is the man we need. Midfield of him Jack and cazorla is pretty impressive

Y M’V would be a disaster. He’s a thug and a trouble causer. If we got him he’d be our Balotelli. I don’t think even Wenger, with his French prejudice, will want the shit that comes with him. We need English, Arsenal fans to the core, not foreign mercenaries attracted by stupid money.

Arsenal needs a defensive middie. I even heard Frimpong is on sale, He is a man I look at as another hardman to beat in the next 1 or 2 seasons. He is a fighter, it just because the recent injuries.

He loves the club and he is strong. There are a lot of dead wood on high wages, others mature but in treatment room 3/4 of the season yet they can’t even play the capital cup but a young player to left at this time, there is danger in near future because this guy is to be a top class middie

Actually even a number three is needed as well as renewing Walcott’s contract. Gibbs can play all the trophies as Santos seems to have fallen far behind.

Arteta is tired, Injury prone and old now to run like the way he has been doing. That ages him quicker. He needs a break or even advance him to help Carzora who is also another tired man. Teams ar now mastering him that is why his influence is diminishing quickly.

It has not taken other teams long to work out the ‘ newish ‘ Arsenal. They all know how to play against us. Wenger has never been a tactician … and he has no answer.

  • WC says:

Etienne Capoue is simply better – jus sayin.

  • Allen Anpes says:

Arsene Wenger is very good at spoting good player and he definately can really contribute for a very good team plan
