Arsenal are, wait for it, preparing a shock £10 million winter move for Liverpool flop Stewart Downing, according to the Sunday Mirror.
If reports are to be believed, Arsene Wenger was interested in signing the England international as a replacement for Samir Nasri before he signed for Liverpool in 2011. But it seems the Frenchman may go back in for the 28-year-old, who has fallen out-of-favour with Brendan Rodgers, when the winter transfer window opens.
It is thought Liverpool are ready to sell Downing, who has only started two Premier League games so far this season, and are reportedly keen on signing Theo Walcott, who only has six months left to run on his contract, from The Gunners.
The Merseyside club may try to utilize Arsenal’s interest in Downing in order to land Walcott this January.
So would Downing be a good acquisition for Arsenal in January? Two words come to mind – hellllll no!
If he can’t get into the current Liverpool team then how the hell is he going to get into ours?
I truly hope this is nothing more than a rumour because if I see Downing arrive at The Emirates this winter then we are officially going backwards as a club.

Since he comes cheap, Wenger could be thought to be interested after all, Wenger likes cheap players. Howver, this time, I can’t see it happen.

It’s sad when Liverpool fans show more respect than our own ones. Gtfo Zahid you disgusting turd, go support City where there is no loyalty or respect. Regardless of what you think of Wenger these days, show some admiration for the man who set up Arsenal’s long term financial success for years to come.
