Andre Santos has hinted of a move away from Arsenal during a recent interview with Esporte.

The Brazilian, who arrived from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2011, was at the receiving end of the fans’ boos after swapping shirts at half-time with former team-mate Robin van Persie during Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United last month.

However, the 29-year-old was quick to publicly apologize for this via his Twitter account.

Santos has struggled to replicate his amazing form he once had with Fenerbahce for The Gooners, which have made many Gooners believe he is not good enough for the club.

There have been several links suggested, with a move back to Turkey or his homeland. Despite the Brazilian defender being contacted by some Turkish clubs, there is nothing concrete as of yet:

‘My idea is to stay in Europe. I want to keep playing, wherever it might be.

‘I still have many objectives on this continent, some clubs from Turkey have called me, but there is nothing concrete.

‘If there is any interest from Sao Paulo, we’ll talk as I’m professional, but there was nothing.’

However, the Santos still believes Arsenal are capable of winning the Premier League, despite currently sitting seventh in the table and 12 points behind league leaders Manchester United.

He added:

‘The team are doing very well, we are very confident that we can finish in first place in the Premier League.

‘There are 20 rounds to be played, it’s only the beginning, a lot will happen.’
