According to the Lancashire Telegraph, Arsenal are set to make a move for Burnley striker Charlie Austin.

The north London club have been linked with a number of strikers ahead of the winter transfer window. But Austin’s link to the Emirates Stadium is undeniably a shocking one, especially when you consider the Englishman has not played in the Premier League.

The 23-year old has been in a promising form for The Clarets this season, scoring 20 goals in 17 appearances for the Championship side in all competitions. The peak of his goals was scored on Tuesday night against Leeds, as he broke became Burnley’s quickest ever player to reach 20 goals in a single season.

Austin is a very combative striker and is very similar to Arsenal misfit Nicklas Bendtner, as the former loves to play with his back to goal. He is renowned for his long shot ability and his decent composure when faced with the keeper.

But will Arsenal even consider the Burnley forward as an option this January? I highly doubt it.
