Arsenal still have hope of signing reported target in January after the Athletic Bilbao striker revealed a move to Serie A champions Juventus is not done and dusted.

The 27-year-old’s supposed move to Juventus collapsed in the summer. However, reports in Italy suggest the in-demand forward’s move to the Turin-based club is already a done deal.

Speaking after Bilbao’s 3-3 draw at Espanyol last Sunday, a game where the Spaniard scored, Llorente said:

‘Now I am only thinking about helping the team and I will try to make things go as well as last year.

‘I’ve been at Athletic for many years and always will be Athletic – although one day I will play for another team.

‘It has been a bumpy and hard summer and I’ve had to make tough decisions.

‘You never know how things will turn out and I had to go through difficult times.’

The Spain international then made his intentions clear and also stated that his future is undecided at present:

‘In January I am free to negotiate my future, but I want to be focused to try to help the team.

‘But it is not decided that my future is at Juventus.’

This will undoubtedly be music to many Arsenal fans out there who rate the Spaniard and of course, if he is in fact keen on Llorente, .

However, I think it’s a little premature to be focusing on the January transfer window and potential targets – by the looks of it we don’t really need him or anyone else for that matter!
