‘I don’t think Walcott will be missed if he leaves’

Former Gunner Stewart Robson reckons Arsenal should cash in on Theo Walcott because the England winger is inconsistent.

Walcott has yet to sign a new deal at Arsenal, with reports claiming talks between the player and club have stalled, and as a result the 23-year-old could be sold before Friday’s deadline day.

But while some Arsenal fans are desperate to see him stay, Robson believes Arsene Wenger should just sell the former Southampton forward.

He recently told talkSPORT:

‘If you’re spending £75,000 a week on a player then you need him to be consistent, he needs to be one of your main players. I’m not sure Theo Walcott is that player.

‘He’s been too inconsistent during his time at Arsenal. Is he getting better? Is he going to be a top class player? I’m not so sure.

‘He’s at his best when the game is stretched and he can come on as an impact player, but you can’t pay an impact player £75,000 a week.’

PSG, Manchester City and Liverpool are all believed to be interested in the speedy forward and Robson states that the Gunners can cope if Walcott does leave The Emirates this summer:

‘Arsenal could get a bit of money for him now. I don’t think Walcott will be missed if he leaves.’

He added:

‘If I was the manager or on the board, I’d be looking to sell him anyway because I don’t think he’s improved during the time he’s been at Arsenal.’

I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I actually agree with Robson on this one.

Walcott won’t be missed if he leaves this summer, and Wenger would be better off selling the player rather than grant him wages that he’s not even worthy of.

I for one won’t be upset if Theo does decide to head out of the exit door this Friday!

Fans will not mis Walcott because he does not throw a tantrum every now and then!

  • Arsenal Fan says:

Stewart Robson Should F*** off, he never done anything worth while at Arsenal. We gave him a job in media and he lost it for abuse of players and manager. Now he seems to want to make a career off Arsenals back.

Surely in our history we have more worthy commentators than this F*****g idiot!

  • EPL REFEREE HATERS says:

Stewart Robson is correct with his comments regarding Walcott. He is far too inconsistent for a senior player to be commanding that kind of salary. It seems that some of these bloggers do not have a bloody clue about football.

  • MartyP says:

What is all this crap about inconsistent? It is a team sport, last time I looked this kid had 11/12 assists, and 11 goals last year. Decent return as the offense did not run through him. The minute you see him in another strip running at Jenkinson down our sideline you fools that want him gone will start cursing Wenger..23 years old, 28 caps, respected by the Barsa squad, oops that doesn’t count as they always tap up Guners, but you get my gist. Somewhere it has to stop, you cannot keep losing players who are big in your squad and expect to win meaningful silver. Demand that the board up the salary structure, at least to your top ballers. YOu cannot blame Van Persie..hell what did he get almost a 100 grand a week more??They have short careers, that can be ended with one injury. Other teams that win pay…Walcott should maybe take what is offered over a shorter period of time or with built ins to make him a top wage earner. They offered 70, Nasri is on 150 at Citeh..you telling me Nasri is twice as good?

Actually “Arsenal Fan”, Stewart Robson was captain of Arsenal. By comparison, what have you done for Arsenal? Prick.

    • Arsenal Fan says:

F*****g idiot, f*** off questioning what Iv done for arsenal.

whilst not being blessed with the ability to play for arsenal, I have given everything to the club possible for a fan to give. Season ticket, away games, replica shirts the lot. What I don’t do is side with a poncing mug like stuart robson who is making his name off the back of slating Arsenal. Captain or no captain. RVP was captain of Arsenal as well stick up for him, at least he won a trophy while playing for us – even if he is a money chasing mercenary

Why don’t you go and support city you clown

Actually “James Prick”, Stewart Robson chose WHU over Arsenal saying he is going to a better club, so his Anti Arsenal goes back a long way.
‘By comparison, what have you done for Arsenal?’
“Arsenal Fan” stands up for his club as Arsenal Fans should. James you are a stand-up Prick, Stewart Robson would love you.

  • Nice post. I study something on completely different blogs everyday. It can always be stimulating to read content from different writers and apply a bit of something from their blog.
