Wenger ‘not interested’ in French midfielder

Arsene Wenger is not interested in signing Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila, unless there are injury setbacks within the current squad.

Arsenal have been continually linked with the France international, but it seems Wenger is not so keen on signing the 22-year-old as he feels he has a lot of options in the midfield department.

But the Frenchman may reconsider a move for M’Vila if both Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby suffer setbacks to their respective long-term injuries:

‘No [I am not interested in M’Vila]. We wait on Diaby and Wilshere.

‘When you look we have Alex Song, Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin, Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Diaby.

‘In defensive midfielders and box-to-box players we are not short if they are all coming back.’

He finished off by saying:

‘If we have setbacks in pre-season it could be different.’

I do agree with Wenger to some degree. We do have a lot of options in midfield, if everyone is fit, but this is rarely seen.

I would rather Wenger splash out on M’Vila, rather then lose him to a rival, and get rid of the deadwood, like Diaby and Denilson, as both players are not good enough for the club, especially the former who picks up an injury more times than I pick up my TV remote!
