Reported Arsenal and Manchester United target Andre Ayew recently revealed that he is willing to leave Marseille in order to improve his game.

The French club are open to the idea of selling the 22-year-old but will only entertain offers close to the £14 million mark.

The Ghanaian has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, United, Barcelona and newly Inter Milan and reports in Italy and France claim the Serie A side are prepared to meet the Ligue 1 side’s asking price.

Despite admitting that he is ‘happy’ and has labelled Marseille his ‘home, Ayew would consider a move abroad if it was best for all parties involved.

Quoted on SkySports.com, the tenacious winger said:

‘I am looking forward to pre-season and seeing what will happen regarding my future.

‘Marseille is my home and I’m happy to be here. But if I have to leave to improve and the club get what they are looking for, who knows?’

He added:

‘Premier League, Spanish Liga or Serie A are all top leagues and to play there is to play against the best in Europe.’

To be honest, I don’t think we are in desperate need of another winger.

We already have Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lukas Podolski and Gervinho battling it out for the wide positions, and although Ayew would add more depth to our squad, Arsene Wenger would then have the tough task of keeping all these players satisfied.

If Wenger plans on offloading Walcott or any deadwood this summer then I would say let’s enter the race for Ayew. But as it stands, it wouldn’t make sense for us to splash out on yet another wide-man.
