Sociedad desperate to sign Arsenal forward

|

Real Sociedad want to make Carlos Vela the highest paid player at the club this summer but are struggling to match Arsenal’s reported £6 million asking price, according to Marca.

The Spanish publication suggests Sociedad are desperate to sign the 23-year-old, who scored 12 goals in 35 appearances during his season-long loan with the La Liga outfit, and are willing to offer him a four-year-deal which would make him the top earner at the San Sebastian club.

Vela has struggled to feature for the Gunners on a regular basis since his move from Guadalajara in 2005, and has been loaned out THREE times before joining Sociedad last summer.

Its seems Vela’s time at The Emirates has come to an end, as reports claim Arsenal are ready to sell the player and have supposedly placed a £6 million valuation on his head, which Sociedad are struggling to match.

It is believed Sociedad are trying to drive down the asking price but the Gunners know several clubs are interested in the Mexican and will listen to other offers should La Real not be able to fork out the cash.

£6 million is a reasonable asking price for Vela in my view, not too cheap, yet not too expensive. But if we really want to offload him this summer then perhaps the club should consider decreasing the price-tag ever so slightly.

He is a talented player but unfortunately he has no future at Arsenal.
