A possible replacement for Arshavin?

As you may have heard, Eljero Elia is set to leave Juventus after just one season at the Turin club.

The Dutch winger only played four times in Serie A last season – a tally of games that led to his omission from the Netherlands Euro 2012 squad.

Prior to this, the Dutch international claimed, after signing for the Old Lady, that he had been on some of the Premier League clubs shopping lists. Arsenal, along with Fulham, Wigan, Everton and Newcastle, are the clubs said to have been interested in Elia:

Elia admitted:

‘My agent did have contact with Arsenal, but it took too long.

‘I had no contact with Arsene Wenger.

‘Wigan, Everton, Fulham and Newcastle had fairly concrete interest.’

He then reportedly told Eredivisie Live:

‘I want to play football again and have fun again.

‘My agent will arrange it. He will talk to me if there are any developments.’

He added:

‘They have already told me I will be able to move to another club.’

Juventus have clearly giving the Dutchman the green light to go ahead and leave this summer, four games last season is an obvious giveaway.

So is Elia a possible replacement for Arshavin?

For me, the answer is a simple and straight forward no.

I feel there are better players out there to pursue and if we are to get rid of Andrey then his potential replacement needs to have played more than five games, in all competitions, last season.

Besides we already have a youngster who could easily fill Arshavin’s place, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Not just podolski. I think we need an attacking midfielder who can make runs for us.Hello,
I would like to let you know about a web-site that I found a moment ago, where you can make big money on the Internet.

Dzagoev is on our radar again. He’s a great central player who actually doesn’t mind running
and tracking back. He’s showed scoring ability in the euros so far and has put in some nice passes here and there. Truthfully though I still think we need a pure playmaker and I haven’t seen alot of Dzagoev to say if he can do that as he’s also had alot of injuries ever since he was 19.
