Lukas Podolski has finally been officially announced as a Gunner. We knew this ages ago, the only thing that held the announcement back were the problems that were being experienced at his former club FC Koln.

We had an early start adding value and depth to our squad, which is great to see. The question now is, who do we go for next?

I have a simple and straight forward answer to this question, and we don’t even have to look far – .

The on loan Israeli has been brilliant for us when he has featured. He’s experienced, has great technical ability, is highly creative and a superb team player. Benayoun has shown interest in playing for us in recent weeks, so why not sign him permanently when the season is up? don’t look like they really need him, as they have an overload of midfielders amongst their squad.

To put it simply, Yossi is a brilliant player and one we can not let pass us by, especially after seeing what he can bring to the table first hand this season.

If we sign him then maybe we can go for and the rest of those high-profile players everyone keeps yapping on about.

But having seasoned heads in the squad certainly won’t hurt us, especially when they are playing well and can offer something to the side like Yossi Benayoun does.

With the experience from the ‘older players’ and the flair from the younger ones, I believe we will be and look even more dangerous next campaign, which of course will mean that we will finally get our hands on some silverware next season.

Do you agree? Should Yossi Benayoun be our next summer signing, or is there another player we should be concentrating on?

100% agree, fantastic squad player that has turned up on big occasions like spurs and city home and played brilliant. Arsenal fans love him, he gets great reception especially at away games and is a leader in the group

fantastic player, great work ethics and a leader as well,
he will want to stay with us, considering his option and chelsea wont need him much and wont complain,
    Such a great character

    erm….we can do better

his done very well this season, but we talk about deadwood in the team

    and with podolzki coming in
and am sure a few new faces…if benayo was to stay
he would play about 1-2 games a season
and that would be just picking up his wage for doing nothing.

i think we should aim for better players rather then chealse rejects.

I think Arsenal should go for Kagawa for Dortmund, Similar to Rosicky and Benayoun but with better passing

Chelsea want £5m and yossi wants £75k a week thats a hell of a lot for a player who is 32 this month.

This article is deluded. Sure hes won us a couple of games this season and risen to the ocasion when he has been selected (except vs Milan), but trust in Wenger he assess who is the best in training and plays those who show the best quality each week.
Plus hes nearly 32 and will probably want a 2 year contract at least plus get more game time than he has this year, Arsenal didnt want to give Bergkamp a 2 year contact at that age. I wish him well but it is not in the interests of Arsenal to keep him.

It will be nice and brilliant if Arsene Wenger can make Yossi the next signing and work fast about Hazard or M’villa.

your all stupid…. we as the arsenal should be looking at bigger and better calibre players not chelsea rejects like him, sure hes helped us out this season but he hasnt fired 15 goals or provided numerous assists….. i think you lot have all bought into wengers cheapo mentality and forgot we are the mighty arsenal.. manus backup wingers is valencia…why should we settle on someone who cant change games for us!!!!!

And when you look at united they are strongest when their most experienced players I.e Giggs and Scholes are on.
Its not all about having young players with flare. He’s still a good player. Why let him go to waste.

Sign him on a two year deal. Experienced and creative and hard working.
Then sign Vertonghen, M’Vila and Hoilett.
    Sell off Diaby, Djourou, Song.

  • Tom Says:

Since the Invincibles of 2004 , Arsenal have finished combined 104 points behind the eventual league winners . That’s some 15 points less per season than the league winners and they are on track to repeat this feat this year. Should they rectify this shortcoming , perhaps better and more talented players are needed.

  • Moe Shah Says:

He is a good player but for us he will be surplus to requirements and a drain on finances.
I think we should bring in Capoue, Vertonghen, Belhanda & Matias Suarez.
Capoue would bring in brute muscle.
We have Song who can hold the fort while we develop him.
Vertonghan.. We should have got him years ago already.
Belhanda.. He is fluid & would fit our play amazingly (imagine him playing with Wilshire or Arteta!!!)
M.Suarez.. Wow.. This guy is epic!
I have this gut feeling that Hazard would just be another Nasri – We’d develop jim then he’d shit on our faces and go to Spain

He will take up a space where ox or myaichi or Ramsey would use, he isn’t good enough anyway yeh he has had a couple of good games but to fair he has been shocking for most of the season.

Thanking you arsenal fans for brought this up.

The guy is fantastic player, look for what he has contributed to the team this season. He is disciplinable guy, ready to grow always…..he is a good player.

Let him acquire the contract for 1 year period since he is getting older.

But don’t forget to put pressure on HAZARD transfer this time….we need this kind of a player.

  • solja Says:

no doubt he is a good player, but for GOD’s sake we are the arsenals a great club indeed,we shouldnt b settling 4 a rejected player from chelski.everly gunners

I have always thought Benayoun to be greatly under-appreciated wherever he has played. Particularly at Liverpool where he came on as sub time and again and saved the scousers’ bacon.
He has given 100% for Arsenal this season; just look at the way he fought to get the ball back at Stoke which led to our goal.
If we get Jack Wilshere back fit next season (please oh please) then Yossi’s opportunities will be less, but if he is happy with that, what a great squad player

  • bonaroca Says:

I think that Benayoun is under rated. While at Arsenal he has given good service, but like Roscisky he is a player who most probably can’t play more then 30 firt class matches in a season. For sure he a good fill in and also give good service in the reserves and help the up and coming future young players.

  • Chris Doyle Says:

Agreed and agreed and ……….. agreed :) ), the best next signing should be Clint Dampsy from Fulham. He’s in the form of his life and his direct approach is such a good assest, that we are lacking at Arsenal at the moment. And final signining, a very good defend, so that will do the Business for Mr. Wenger this summer ;)
