Arsenal are leading the chase for Birmingham starlet Foday Nabay and hope to seal the deal sometime next week, according to SkySports.com.

The Sierra Leone-born midfielder has been regarded as one of the brightest talents in the country and has also been labelled as the next Yaya Toure. In addition, Nabay was called up England Under-16’s as a 12-year-old last summer, which shows how good this kid really is.

The 13-year-old is understood to have activated a clause in his existing deal which would allow him to leave Birmingham City with interested clubs only having to pay the Championship side for training compensation.

Nabay has spent six seasons at St. Andrews, but could be on his way out the Midlands club this summer with many Premier League sides monitoring his situation.

Due to their renowned academy and training methods, Arsenal would appear favourites for the youngster’s signature, and Nabay will more than likely consider a move to the Gunners for these reasons.

The Gunners are thought to have had a bid rejected by the Championship side last month, but it is understood that the north London club will make a fresh approach for the youngster next week.

Would be very interesting to see what Nabay makes of this!

Having watched the kids play many times its easy to see why Foday is interesting other clubs .Especially as so called bigger clubs regularly pinch youngsters off other clubs, but thankfully he has level headed parents who are happy for him to stay where he is.As for saying hes activated a clause to be able to leave then thisis just garbage journalism.

A flagship signing for Wenger ,can we sign his 8 year old brother as well?

This story contradicts itself – If Arsenal only have to pay ‘training compensation’ to Birmingham, then how on gods green earth could Birmingham reject a Gunners ‘bid’. Come now.

Regardless, I have no problem with the club continuing to acquire the best youngsters! The physical development gap between 12 and 16 year olds is HUGE. This kid has to be pretty special. Sign him up!

I think Foday Nabay might wait for a big club to come looking for him, after all he doesn’t really want to be with a nearly club 😉 pmsl.
