Arsenal are interested in the services of AC Milan youngster Stephan El Shaarawy, according to the striker’s agent.

Arsene Wenger is known to be a keen admirer of the 19-year-old and had been keeping tabs on him before the Italian eventually signed for Milan last summer from Genoa.

But El Shaarawy has struggled to cement a first-team place in Massimiliano Allegri’s side, making a total of 26 appearances (seven starts) so far this season, and Wenger is apparently ready to make a fresh move for the Italy Under-21 international, as the Frenchman looks to add new faces to his squad ahead of the new campaign.

However, despite the youngster expressing an admiration for the Premier League, his agent, Roberto La Florio, insist his client will not be leaving the San Siro:

‘Arsenal were watching him before his arrival in Milan. But the Rossoneri have signed him and will not be letting him go. He would also be happy to stay at Milan.’

So it looks like a permanent move is out of the question, but could a potential loan deal be on the cards? Well I certainly don’t see why not.

The young Italian has superb pace, great movement off and on the ball, is versatile and is technically gifted. He certainly ticks all the boxes and would, I think, suit Arsenal’s style of play perfectly.

I can’t see any reason why Milan wouldn’t want to loan him out, as he is not a first-team regular. Besides, it’s a no-brainer for me and a potential deal that would benefit both clubs.

Under the tutelage of Wenger, El Shaarawy would go back to Milan as an all-round better player, and Arsenal would’ve added a quality forward to their squad for virtually nothing.

So, should Arsenal look to make a loan move for El Shaarawy?
