So mission impossible or possible mission, according to Arsene Wenger, will hopefully take place tonight as the Gunners host AC Milan in their second leg Champions League tie and attempt to overturn a 4-0 deficit at The Emirates.
I don’t need to tell any Gooner out there what transpired at the San Siro a few weeks ago and I certainly don’t need to tell anyone what is required tonight!
To put it quite simply, a sheer miracle must ensue if we are to continue our Champions League journey this season. A bunch of goals must be scored and none must be conceded on our part, which could happen, but is very, very unlikely, especially with the attacking prowess Milan possesses.
I have stated in the past that we should just go all out and try to achieve the unthinkable; we simply have nothing to lose at this stage.
So if we want to take it to Milan and try to progress to the next stage of the competition then I believe Wenger must go with this formation and starting line-up:
Szczesny
Sagna Koscielny Vermaelen Gibbs
Chamberlain Song Rosicky Gervinho
Walcott Van Persie
A attacking 4-4-2 is the way to go.
The back four speaks for itself and with Mikel Arteta likely to miss the game, Alex Song and Tomas Rosicky should sit in the midfield – one attacks while the other defends. Either side of them are Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gervinho, both of whom should be ordered to run at Milan’s full-backs and cut inside to support the strike partnership of Theo Walcott and Robin van Persie. If we need more goals and time is running out, then both Marouane Chamakh and Park Chu-Young should just be thrown in for the sake of it.
Who do you guys reckon should start for us tonight against Milan?

I love your courage and play with words in your writeup – ‘thrown in for the sake of it’. For me, i would love to see Song amongst the four defenders while Gibb rest for tonight. We need to go all out.
Lets play Barca style of three defenders tonight. Lets Have Park included in the starting 11. Chamberlain and Rosicky should man the middle. But the two of them are forward minded. We might loose the midfield. All the same we need to attack these Milan.
My only instruction to the boys is not to hold back tonight. Shoot and dribble inside we need the goals like tomorrow
Whichever formation we have to score five.
wow rufus didn,t know that! sap
I love jacobs’ formation wiv ox n rosicky in d mid, gerv n theo on d wings, then pjy n rvp upfront. Bt as juicy as it sounds, its too careless. I luv tony merakli’s,nd ll stick wiv it. Bt hwever way,we will score 4 n concede non within 90mins.
Well I think wenger has done the best as manager. In this preseason..looking up to the tactics tonights 4-4-2. Is really fatastic cos we need more of attacking and scoring and I know van persie and walcolt will pperform wounderfully well tonight cos they understand each others..then gervinho and chamberlain are also in a good side cos the are skillfu players and can be more of supportive to vanpersie and walcolt…then talking about our defence line vermalain and koscieny are like husband and wife ,they will understand each as normal then baba song and roscisky are also good to deliver in the mildfield…hoping we play more of team work tonight.
Thanks am a gonner to the end and will be happy to paly at emerate .
Thanks

Perfect first half for us. But second half we lost our belief in the fear of a Milan Goal and that spoiled our attack. I think the substitutions did not help. the two most enterprising players left the field. Walcott on injury a i hope Ox was not on the same. I had hoped Wenger would leave the Moroccan in the bench. I would rather Oguzhan Ozyakup. played instead. Park would have come earlier and i was hoping Gervinho would leave the field as he was getting too many goo balls that he kept squandering with poor decision making. Walcott was trying too much and loosing balls in the end, but he was goal threat. We gave a good account of ourselves, but we let soft goals in in the first match and had it a little too much for us to bring ourselves back.
