Former Blackburn left-back Michael Gray believes Junior Hoilett has the ability to play for Arsenal.

Yesterday morning the ex-England international told talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show that the 21-year-old has been a find for Blackburn and a player that could immediately fit into Arsene Wenger’s side:

‘Hoilett has been a great find [for Blackburn].

‘I think he’s a terrific player, I really do.

‘I’ve been saying it for about a year-and-a-half now, he’s got ability and I think maybe one of the top four are looking at him like Arsenal. I think he’ll fit into their side straightaway, no problem.

‘He’s got fantastic ability and he knows where the back of the net is as well.’

The Canadian forward, who has been at the Lancashire club since he was 13, has attracted the attentions of several top clubs around Europe, including Liverpool, Tottenham and even German giants Bayern Munich following his impressive displays for Steve Kean’s side over the past two seasons.

And with the youngster’s contract set to expire in the summer and a particular FIFA ruling, all the clubs mentioned above will be looking to snap him up for just a small fraction of his £8 million asking price when the window opens.

Could he fit into the Arsenal line-up straightaway as Gray suggests? I don’t think so.

Although he looks a good player, I think Hoilett would struggle to feature for Arsenal on a regular basis, especially with Robin van Persie on fire!

Hoilett has made 25 Premier League appearances so far this season, bagging six goals and five assists.

Of what I’ve seen he plays in a very similar way to Sturridge at Chelsea, at either end of a front 3. The Yak is usually Blackburn’s central forward, not Hoilett. Therefore he would more likely be bo competition for Walcott/Gervinho than RVP. I certainly rate him, and I think it would be lovely to have him as an option. I would rather have him playing than Chamakh or Park anyway.

I have been follwoing some match where Junior Hoilett has played and I will agreed that he will be a good inclusion in our team and will pass well in.

He’s better than both them in my opinion if we sign him, he’ll be a true star for us….. When I see him around town I always ask him Junior your coming to us aren’t ya, your coming to the Arsenal…. He just laughs at me and says lets just see what happens .. He’s a nice guy a true Gooner so im sure he will do us proud in the red and white of Arsenal….

Good player, but not sure there’s room for him when we already have Walcott, Gervinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain and possibly Miyaichi back next season. Also, if we manage to finalise the signing of Podolski and keep Van Persie, Poldi is likely to regularly occupy the left wing position.

Tempting given his minimal fee and potential, but there’s other positions more in need of strengthening.

He lost me yesterday with his piss poor interpretation of Suarez.
    He’s a diving piece of shit,so not,not for me.
