The Legend that is Ian Wright has been very vocal in the last few weeks about the race for third which has seen Arsenal reduce Tottenham’s lead from 10 points down to just one.
Wrighty is convinced that his former club can overhaul Spurs for third place:
‘Tottenham are having a great season, but the fact is they don’t know how it is to finish it off at this stage, which is the problem they’re going to have now.
‘They lost against Everton, they got murdered against Arsenal and lost to Man United.
‘When you pull that many points back, it gives Arsenal more than a good chance of finishing above Tottenham.’
I have to completely agree with Wright, and I have said exactly that for sometime now. Tottenham simply do not know how to finish off the season well as we’ve seen before in the past.
Arsenal are in amazing form and yeah we got a very, very late goal against Newcastle on Monday night, but the belief a goal like that gives the side is superb. We have now come back from behind four times in a row to win games, setting a new Premier League record. The belief that the team are playing with is simply fantastic and it will bring the players more together and we will finish strongly.
Wright added:
‘Arsenal know how to finish the season and stay in that top four, while Spurs are still finding out what it is like to be in there, stay in there and the pressure of having to win games.’
Tottenham also have a lot of pressure at the moment, not knowing if Harry Redknapp will remain at the club this summer and that must be having an effect on the club and its fans who are quickly losing belief, while the Arsenal fans are united in pulling one of the biggest shocks of finishing third and above Tottenham after their worst start in a season in recent years.
Wright continued:
‘I think Arsenal know that and it has just been good to stay close enough to get the points where they can and now we’re one point behind and right amongst them. I think we can finish third, no problem.’
I believe the pressure will prove too much for Tottenham, who have to find form and fast, because they are now in serious danger of losing that third place.
It is all about confidence and belief and the team with the most will go on to take third and I cannot see Tottenham holding on to it. They’ve been hit hard as of late and just don’t seem to be able to claw themselves back to the form they had prior to playing us.
Arsenal on the other hand are back to playing some fantastic football and with the likes of Theo Walcott, who was amazing against Newcastle, and Tomas Rosicky, who has been rewarded with a new contract following his amazing season, third place WILL be ours come the end of the season.

Trust me Arsenal will lose against Everton and then Spurs will beat Stoke at Home and its back to 4 points…..the league is topsy turvy.
The fact Spurs have had a bad run of form coincides with the fact that those games were against Everton away (a place they always lose), Man Utd(always lose) and Arsenal away (almost always lose)…..
Any spurs fan would tell you that we would have lost those games…..
They will lose 1 more, away at Chelsea, the rest of the 9 are easy so yes Spurs will get 3RD, only because they had that 10 point gap to lose in the first place LUCKILY.
Arsenal will struggle against Stoke away, Man City, Chelsea and Everton away…….Any knowledgable Arsenal fan will tell you that

Haha a whole lot of wishful thinking here. We’ve just played 3 tough teams in Liverpool, Man U and Everton. Did you manage to beat pool at home? No. Did you beat Man U at home? No! Everton will be a big test for you and I don’t fancy your chances of blagging another 90th min goal! Spurs have the easiest run in and this dangling the carrot in front of you is going to be all the more sweeter when we shut the door on you come May! COYS

I think both of these spuds fans just prooved the fact that the manager the players nor the fans have the mentality to even stay in the top 4!! The reason we are only one point behind you now is because we have shown we can take 3 points off of anyone, we beat 5pud2 < 5-2, blackburn 7-1, sunderland 2-1 away, liverpool 2-1 away, italian champions milan 3-0 and newcastle 2-1, face it!!! Spuds have there back against the wall for the first time this season and there choking!! Arsenal have had there backs against the wall all season and we have got back in the top 4 and are now only 1 point from being 3rd! Arsenal will come 3rd now, the momentum is with the gunners not the spuds
We lost 3 games. Man Utd at home (you also lost), Arsenal away (you lost to us away) and this weekend you go to Goodison whilst we host Stoke.
Things will look clearer after this weekend, especially with Chelskigoing to City. They have the toughest run in and a points deficit soI think bothSpurs and Smarsenal should finish 4th. Hard to call who will get 3rd/4th out of us though.

When i say consistant i mean staying in the top four for 15 years straight that is consistant!!! Not being in the champions league for one year and being out of it the next!
