Arsenal legend predicts bright future for AOC

|

Well surely it doesn’t get any better than this if your name is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has given his blessing as it were by tipping the England Under-21 international to become a huge success at the north London club.

The 34-year-old Frenchman, who in January rejoined Arsenal on a short-term deal from New York Red Bulls, witnessed the 18-year-old in action and believes the young winger has the potential to forge an illustrious career at the Emirates Stadium.

Chamberlain has been likened to team-mate and former Southampton youth product Theo Walcott, but Titi reckons Chambo is a unique player:

Quoted on SkySports.com, Henry said:

‘Alex Chamberlain is really good.

‘He reminds me of himself and no-one else. He is writing his own story.’

The French striker concluded by saying:

‘I hope he will remain at Arsenal for a long time and he could forge a career we will never forget.’

The Ox definitely has the criteria to become an Arsenal great and create a glittering career at the club as Henry states. However, I hope the hype doesn’t go to the youngsters head. He needs to keep his feet firmly on the ground and the media likewise shouldn’t over praise him, just look what happened to Theo all them years back!

We all know he has the quality and is one hell of a player at such a tender age. The only problem we face now would be – where on the field should he ply his trade?

Does Arsene Wenger mould him into a tricky and powerful winger or would it be best for Chambo to showcase his talent in the middle of the park?

One thing is for certain, we have a soon-to-be world-class player on our hands!

Chambo is really one hell of a player yet to sore Arsenal to the top and stay there like city will do this season. However, Chambo’s job is to put all his strength, commitment and FOCUS on the game and TEAM not thinking about impressing anyone or feed his eager to be a superstar. I think he should just play his part and strive to get his team a win. Chambo is quite shy though
