Arsenal forward unsure ‘what the future holds’ but keen on Sociedad stay

|

Carlos Vela has reiterated his desire to stay at Real Sociedad after his loan spell at the Spanish club expires at the end of the season, according to talkSPORT.

The 23-year-old Mexican international joined Arsene Wenger’s side back in 2005, but has spent a large portion of his time plying his trade for other clubs on loan, including Salamanca, Osasuna and West Brom.

However, the forward finally appears to have found a permanent home in Sociedad, and last month told El Diario Vasco that he wants to stay at the La Liga club because he is ‘happy’ there.

Vela has scored six goals in 26 La Liga appearances for the San Sebastian club so far this season and hopes he has convinced Philippe Montainer to sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the campaign.

The Daily Mail also suggested a few days ago that Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay will visit England and try to negotiate a £3.5 million deal with Arsenal for Vela’s services.

Vela said:

‘I do not know if I will be here or not. There is still time until the window opens and I do not know what the future holds.’

Well I reckon I know what the future holds for you Carlos – you’ll simply be offloaded by us this summer, as it seems there is no place for you at the club anymore, especially after acquiring both The Ox and Geo.
