Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Cristian Tello is set to stay at Barcelona, according to the youngster’s agent.

Reports in Spain have previously suggested that the Premier League duo are keeping tabs on the 20-year-old forward, who has scored four goals in nine appearances (in all competitions) for the reigning European and Spanish champions so far this season.

However, despite making the breakthrough into the Barca first-team and starting just two of his nine performances (one in La Liga), Tello is out of contract in the summer and reports claim the former Espanyol B winger is looking for a new challenge, as first-team opportunities at the Camp Nou are few and far between at present.

But Jose Maria Orobitg, Tello’s agent, has recently revealed that the Spain Under-23 international is already discussing a new deal at the Catalan club, despite being linked with a summer move abroad.

Orobitg was quoted on talkSPORT.com saying:

‘Many European clubs are interested in the boy, but we are now in negotiations with Barca.

‘There have been calls from England, Portugal, from everywhere, but still nothing is clear.’
